I will take a few hours, but I will see if I can get gentoo installed into a spare partition somewhere. The thread library issue is damning and has my attention. gentoo seems to be ahead of the rest of the distos on the timeline, but slightly fragile. This is an alert that thread trouble may be on the way to me.
